Sustainable tourism

Sustainable tourism is a new way of interpreting the travel experience, which encourages the discovery of local territories, cultures and traditions and which minimizes impacts on the environment and communities. Sustainable tourism is based on the principles of the three Es: Economy, Ethics and Environment, where economy, ethics and environment have equal consideration in the minds of those who move and host people.

It is therefore a more responsible and rapidly expanding approach to tourism as demonstrated by the World Tourism Organization research stating that 93% of travelers believe that the sustainability of holidays is increasingly important.

Sustenia offers a series of services for companies operating in tourism, to support them and their offer, in particular:

  • sustainable management of natural resources employed for tourist facilities and activities;
  • study of the reduction of impacts along the entire tourism chain;
  • valorization of the environmental and cultural resources of the territories.

Each operation arises from a phase of study of the environmental, social and cultural characteristics of the territory and from the study of the business objectives of the tourist operator. Based on this assessment phase, together with the client we build the strategic plan for the sustainable development path. By implementing it, tourism organizations obtain virtuous results:

  • they intercept the needs of tourists sensitive to sustainability issues;
  • they provide a much more fulfilling experience to their customers;
  • they enhance the territories and communities of reference;
  • they set the business on the basis of a greater long-term economic security.
